Magnitude 4.4 tremor in Sindhupalchowk creates fear in Kathmandu valley

According to Nepal Seismological Center, magnitude 4.4 aftershock was recorded in Sindhupalchowk at 09:14 pm. The epicenter was located near Golche, Langtang national park.

According to Jo Anne Kelly: "I felt it in Buddhanilkantha. It lasted few seconds, enough to make me jump up to run outside."

Yesterday, an earthquake of Ml 3.0 occurred in Kathmandu at 07:25 pm. This is the 341th aftershock of magnitude 4 or greater after the deadly April 25 earthquake.


The death toll from April 25 mega earthquake has reached 8,895, Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction Portal  mentioned. The highest number of deaths have been reported from Sindhupalchowk district (3,532) followed by Kathmandu (1,226).
