Flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall have claimed lives of atleast 11 people in northern Iran.
At least nine people have gone missing in the affected areas, Tehran Times has written quoting IRNA as saying.
The official IRNA state news agency said at least 30 cars have been pulled out of the mud, adding the number of the trapped cars is more than what has been reported. According to Mohammad-Taqi Irani, Deputy Governor of Alborz province, the Karaj river overflowed following heavy rainfall.
Two women and a Chinese national are among those killed, state TV said.
Moreover, highwinds of up to 80 km/h caused heavy damage in Tehran and its neighboring towns on Sunday evening.
