FEMA help available on texas flood insurance claims and questions

Do you have questions regarding flood insurance claims? Flood insurance claims can be complicated, and Texas policyholders may have questions as they move forward on the road to recovery.

In this regard, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is helping Texans with flood insurance claims and questions.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program call center is staffed with specialists who can assist Texas policyholders with servicing their claims, providing general information regarding their policies, and offering technical assistance to aid in recovery, FEMA said in a press release issued on July 7, 2015.

According to FEMA, a flood insurance specialist can be reached at 800-621-3362 between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (CDT) Monday through Friday.

Call center staff are available to answer questions, such as
  • How do I file a flood insurance claim?
  • What type of documentation is needed?
  • Can I still obtain disaster assistance even though I have a flood policy?
Staff can also answer more complicated insurance questions about the extent of coverage and policy ratings. The call center serves disaster survivors who have general questions about the National Flood Insurance Program.
