Kerala government is collaborating with World Bank to establish four centers for managing natural disaster in India.
According to the state disaster management authority, multipurpose cyclone risk mitigation centres will be set up at Kumbaanghi, Njarakkal, Kovilakathu Kadavu and Puthenvelikkara regions of Kerala.
Centers with a total area of around 15,000 sqft will be built by World Bank with 75% of the total construction cost. The remaining amount will be met by the state government.
The shelters will be full functional and operated by a committee of people's representatives and government officials.
