Asian cities most at risk from natural disasters, Study shows

About  56% of 100 cities most exposed to natural disasters are found in four Asian nations, a study published on Wednesday by risk analysis firm Verisk Maplecroft has shown.

Philippine cities are most at risk from natural disasters as eight out of 10 world cities most exposed to natural disasters are located there followed by China, Japan and Bangladesh.

The report was published analyzing the threats posed by storms, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, volcanoes and landslides in more than 1,300 cities.

Out of 100 cities with the greatest exposure to natural disasters, 21 were located in the Philippines, 16 in China, 11 in Japan and eight in Bangladesh.

Of the 100 cities with the greatest exposure to natural disasters, 21 are located in the Philippines, 16 in China, 11 in Japan and 8 in Bangladesh. Port Vila of Vanuatu ranks the top of the list of cities most at risk from natural disasters.
