Cyclone Hudhud, which has reportedly killed twenty four people in India, triggered rains in Nepal on Monday.
According to the Nepal's Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), eastern and central parts of Nepal received rains all through the day with Simara of Bara district recording the highest amount (5.4 mm). Downpours have also been recorded in Kathmandu, Dang, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, Okhaldhunga, Taplejung, Dhankuta and Biratnagar.
Affects of cyclone Hudhud is expected to end from Wednesday in most parts of Nepal. However, it will end only from Thursday in the far-western region, Nepal Republic Media mentioned.
Heavy snowfall is expected in upper himalayan region of Nepal on Tuesday.
Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Hudhud was the strongest tropical cyclone of 2014 within the North Indian Ocean. Tropical cyclone Hudhud made landfall near the port-city of Visakhapatnam at 11:30 AM on October 12
Hudhud has been named after the national bird of Israel, Hoopoe. The name was suggested by Oman. Hudhud is the strongest tropical cyclone of 2014 within the North Indian Ocean.

Mostly cloudy in the central and western regions and generally cloudy in the eastern region. Widespread rain to continue in the country, chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the central and western regions.

हाल देशभर भै रहेको मौसमी गतिविधि वंगालको खाडिमा विकसित भै जमिन तर्फ प्रवेश गरेको सामुद्रिक चक्रवात (Hudhud) को कारणले हुन गएको हो। सामुद्रिक चक्रवात (Hudhud) अक्टोवर १२ (आइतवार) मा मध्यान्ह पछि भारतको आन्ध्रप्रदेशको तटिय क्षेत्रबाट जमिन तर्फ प्रवेश गरी विस्तारै कमजोर बन्दै उत्तर पश्चिम दिशा तर्फ अगाडि बढिरहेको छ।
सामुद्रिक चक्रवात (Hudhud) प्रत्यक्ष रुपमा नेपाल प्रवेश नगरे पनि वंगालको खाडिबाटै यसको प्रवेशसंग आएका जलवाष्पयुक्त वादलहरुको कारणले नेपालको मौसम प्रभावित भएको हो। सामुद्रिक चक्रवात (Hudhud) क्रमश: उत्तर पश्चिम दिशामा अगाडि वढदै जाने क्रममा सो बादलहरु पनि क्रमश: नेपालको पूर्वबाट पश्चिम तर्फ सर्दै जाने क्रममा छ। वर्तमान मौसम विश्लेषणका आधारमा देशको पूर्वी क्षेत्रको केहि भागबाट भोलिवाट नै मौसममा क्रमिक सुधार हुँदै जानेछ। तर भोलि देशको मध्य क्षेत्रको मौसम यथावतै रहेनछ भने पश्चिम क्षेत्रको मौसममा भने संभवत विहिवार मात्र मौसममा सुधार आउने छ।पश्चिम क्षेत्रका केहि ठाँउमा भोलि (मंगलवार) र पर्सि (बुधवार) भारी वर्षा समेत हुन सक्नेछ।
