Strong earthquake strikes off Chilean coast: USGS

M 6.6 strong earthquake shakes coastal areas of Chile today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located to the south of Coquimbo and La Serena. It was 7.7 miles deep.

The earthquake also made building sway in Chile's capital of Santiago.

No damage or injuries have been reported. Earthquake assessment is going on.
