'Nameless cyclone' in Sri Lanka causes flooding, 7 killed

Update
-Death toll from flooding in Sri Lanka has risen to 7.
-Following Sri Lankan Disaster Management Centre, still two people are missing.

Flooding caused by the cyclone Mahasen in Sri Lanka (name not used in Sri Lanka) has killed two and injured eight others, Disaster Management Center (DMC) official says.

The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has warned of possible landslides in Ratnapura, Matale, Galle, Kalutara, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya and Badulla districts of Sri Lanka, Daily Mirror reports.

Following Sri Lanka Meteorological Department, storm Mahasen is moving away from Sri Lanka.

The Meteorology Department has decided not to use the name “Mahasen” any longer for this cyclone. However the officials didn't give any reason behind it. The storm named "Mahasen" is after an ancient Sri Lankan king.

Now this cyclone remains nameless in Sri Lanka. The name ‘Priya” would be use for the next cyclone, Meteorology Department says. Detail report on cyclone Mahasen can be found here.
