-The Red Cross has set up a shelter at First United Methodist Church in Duluth.
-Emergency crews rescued an 8-year-old boy in Proctor.
-Internet and cell-phone service is out in Two Harbors and elsewhere in Lake County.
-Several inbound flight cancelled by Duluth International Airport due to severe weather.
-Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton will visit Duluth on Thursday to assess the flood damage.

Heavy flooding in Duluth
-Heavy rainfall and flooding continue in northeastern Minnesota.
-Flash-flood emergency declared in Duluth
This is what Mike Stewart of National Weather Service said
"This is a first, at least for the area.
We've never done a flash-flood emergency."
-It is believed to be the worst flood since 1972 in the Twin Ports area and along the north shore of Lake Superior.
-Sinkholes and mudslides were reported across the city. Above is the photo a car which fell into a huge sinkhole on Skyline Parkway in Duluth (source Duluth News Tribune)

-Both the University of Minnesota campus in Duluth and the University of Wisconsin, Superior campus were closed Wednesday.
-Several animals at Lake Superior Zoo were killed by floods.
-Duluth is a port city in the U.S. state of Minnesota and is the county seat of Saint Louis County.
