Shiveluch Volcano in Russia spews ash up to 5 km

Shiveluch Volcano in Russia spewed ash up to a height of 5 km, Emergencies Ministry Department said today.

The current Shiveluch eruption poses no immediate threat to nearby settlements.

However the clouds of volcanic ash could pose threat to air traffic, emergency service said.

Most recent shiveluch volcano eruption started on August 1999, and continues as of 2013.

Shiveluch is the northernmost active volcano in Kamchatka Krai, Russia. Klyuchi is the nearest settlement from the volcano located 50 km far.
