Slovenia earthquake 2013

M 4.1 light earthquake shakes Slovenia today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake's epicenter was located just 5 km WSW of Zuzemberk. It was 6.2 miles deep.

Following Slovenian Environment Agency, Slovenia lies on the seismically active southern boundary of the Eurasian tectonic plate on the north-western boundary of the Mediterranean-Himalayan seismic belt.

The 1895 Ljubljana earthquake with magnitude 6.1 was the most destructive earthquake in the area.
